Last week we drove up to Guadalajara to spend a few days taking in the sights, cooling off, warranty service for the car and attending the beer festival. This is the 6th year of this festival in Guadalajara, the sponsors claim it to be the largest such event in Latin America.
We rode a public bus from our hotel (I hate driving in Guadalajara) to a pub "El Deposito" a few miles away where we could buy tickets and catch a shuttle to the festival. everything worked as planned, the shuttle was a 12 passenger mini-van - very comfortable until you pack 23 people plus the driver into it. Wish I had a video of people getting out of the thing, must have looked like a clown car.

The festival was held on the grounds of the Ominforum stadium west of Guadalajara, about a 12 minute ride from the pub a speeds of 85 mph
Tickets cost 100 pesos, about $8.00 US

It was a beautiful fall day, people were out to have fun. there were about 80 beer manufactures represented from Mexico, Germany and the US. Each vendor had a tent and tables and provided samples for a small fee. Food and snacks tents were scattered through out the grounds.
We shared a table with some college student who were in the city to attend a conference but got bored and decided to go the the beer festival instead.
For lunch we decided on the "Munch Inn" - a tent place that was grilling bratwurst. It seemed quite popular with the locals. The bratwurst cost 50 pesos, about $4.00 us and were very tasty, they came loaded with pretty much every condiment known to man, onions, chilies, sauerkraut, peppers, mayo, catsup and mustard. Terry thought the operation lacked "efficiency " and had a long discussion with the owner on how to improve the operation and make more money. The owner really did take her advice and changed the process on the spot. He looked us up later asking for more ideas.
After a few beers I really needed a bathroom. there were no signs indicating where to go. But the big building below looked promising so we headed there. turned out the facilities were in back of this monstrous tent.
